The basics

What are electronics manufacturing services?

Electronics manufacturing services (EMS) is the outsourced production of electronic products — from bare-board fabrication to a finished, tested assembly. Instead of running your own factory, you hand your design to an EMS provider that owns the equipment, the supply-chain relationships and the quality systems.

PCB

Fabrication

Bare boards in FR4, high-frequency Rogers, flex, rigid-flex and metal-core — single-layer through complex multilayer stackups.

SMT

Assembly (PCBA)

Surface-mount and through-hole population, including BGA, micro-BGA, QFN and fine-pitch parts on mixed-technology boards.

QA

Test & box-build

AOI, X-ray, in-circuit and functional testing, conformal coating, and full box-build to a shippable end product.

How it works

From Gerber files to shipped product

A single, managed path through PCBSYNC's electronics manufacturing services.

Send files

Email Gerber (RS-274X), drill file and BOM, zipped, to Sales@pcbsync.com.

DFM & quote

Engineers run a design-for-manufacturability check and return a firm quote within 24 hours.

Procurement

Components are sourced and verified — full turnkey or partial, with approval on any substitutions.

Assembly

SMT and through-hole population on calibrated lines, prototype through production.

Test

AOI, X-ray, in-circuit and functional testing validate every board before it ships.

Ship

Boards or finished box-build units are packed and dispatched worldwide.

Questions

Electronics manufacturing services FAQ

What are electronics manufacturing services (EMS)?+
EMS covers outsourced design support, PCB fabrication, component procurement, assembly (PCBA), testing and box-build — everything needed to turn a circuit design into a finished product. An EMS provider like PCBSYNC owns the equipment and supply chain so you do not need your own factory.
How much does an EMS project cost?+
Cost is driven by board complexity, component count and sourcing, assembly technology, volume and turnaround. Use the estimator above for a planning figure, then send your files to PCBSYNC for an exact quote within 24 hours.
Is there a minimum order quantity?+
No. PCBSYNC builds from a single assembled board up to short-run production of around 50,000 units, which suits prototypes, pilot batches and small production orders.
Turnkey or do I supply the parts?+
Both. Full turnkey means PCBSYNC sources every component. Partial turnkey (consignment) means you supply some parts and PCBSYNC procures the rest, asking for your approval on any substitution.
What files do you need for a quote?+
Gerber RS-274X for fabrication; add the drill file and a BOM for assembly. Zip everything into one folder and email Sales@pcbsync.com.
What quality standards do you work to?+
IPC-A-610 for assembly workmanship, plus ISO 13485 for medical and IATF 16949 for automotive electronics, with AOI, X-ray, ICT and functional testing.

What engineers say

★★★★★

"Quoted in a day, boards arrived clean and tested. The DFM notes caught a footprint issue before we built."

— Hardware lead, IoT startup
★★★★★

"Started at five prototypes, scaled to a few thousand with the same team. Partial turnkey saved us on long-lead parts."

— Founder, wearables
★★★★★

"Mixed SMT and through-hole, fine-pitch BGA, no drama. Traceability was exactly what our audit needed."

— Production engineer, medical devices
